With great solemnity and emotion, an Archieratical Concelebration was held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Church of Saint Menas in Thessaloniki, marking the inauguration of the new offices of the Missionary Association “St. Cosmas of Aetolia.”
The Divine Liturgy was presided over by Metropolitan Meletios of Katanga, concelebrated by Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa, Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar, and Bishop Kosmas of Konstansia. The homily was delivered by Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa, who spoke about the challenges and blessings of Orthodox mission work across the African continent.
It was a profound joy and spiritual blessing for the parish to welcome so many missionary hierarchs, who brought with them the spirit and grace of Orthodox witness in Africa. Their presence offered spiritual encouragement and inspiration to the many faithful who filled the church.
Following the Divine Liturgy, at 11:00 a.m., a special event took place in the hall of the Missionary Association, featuring the visiting hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, who shared moving testimonies and insights from their missionary work across Africa.
The event concluded in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and spiritual uplift, as all attendees expressed heartfelt wishes for the continued success of the Missionary Association “St. Cosmas of Aetolia” and the flourishing of Orthodox mission worldwide.
