On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the fourth annual Catechetical Program of the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi was inaugurated in the Community Hall of the Holy Church of Saint George in Makrochori.
The hall was filled with the voices of children.
The Blessing Service began with a performance by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi. This was followed by a video showcasing the activities of the previous year, 2024–2025.
The Metropolis’s catechetical program is a vibrant spiritual space where children are lovingly and attentively taught the Orthodox faith, tradition, morals, customs, and language of their ancestors.
Teamwork and courtesy are cultivated in an open environment where participation, joy, learning, and spiritual formation coexist. This is all made possible thanks to the support and guidance of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the visionary founder of the program, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, both of whom are deeply committed to the future of Hellenism.
At the conclusion of the event, the Metropolitan, catechists, and children discussed the schedule of activities for the current year.
Starting this year, the Holy Metropolis will organize name-day celebrations and birthdays for participating children in the Community Hall.
