On March 12, at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow presided over the first meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church for 2026.
Opening the session, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the members of the Holy Synod with a brief greeting, after which the Synod proceeded with its work in accordance with the agenda.
