The memory of Saint Photios the Great, Patriarch of Constantinople, who is the patron saint of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, was celebrated with a synodical co-liturgy.
Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece presided over the Divine Liturgy this morning at the Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Penteli. Metropolitans Chrysostomos of Trifylia and Olympia, and Athanasios of Sisanion and Siatista will concelebrated the Divine Liturgy.
The director of the office of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Athens, Metropolitan Amfilochios of Adrianople, the representative of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Athens, Metropolitan Georgios fo Guinea, the Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Athens, Archimandrite Damianos, and many hierarchs from the Church of Greece attended the Divine Liturgy. Presidents, deans and professors from the Schools of Theology of Athens and Thessaloniki universities also attended the Divine Liturgy.
