On Friday, March 15, an event was organized for the “Day of Memory” at “the square of victims of Nazism” in Munich.
Councillor Jutta Koller represented with a brief greeting the Municipality of Munich. There also attended Mr. Erich Schneeberger, chairman of the Bavarian Association of the Central Council for Sinti and Roma, and the organizer of the event, Mr. Alexander Diepold (Die Madhause gemeinnützige GmbH).
On the part of the Churches, there participated the pastor Barbara Kittelberger (Evangelical Church of Munich), pastor Ivica Viskovic (Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Munich and Freising) and Protopresbyter Apostolos Malamousis (Holy Metropolis of Germany), who prayed for the eternal memory of the victims of Nazism, arguing that the duty of the society is to promote multiculturalism, tolerance and peace, with respect to the individual person, regardless of colour and origins.
Other participants were the president of the Jewish Community of Munich, Dr. Charlotte Knobloch, the former Bavarian State Minister of Education and currently Bavarian Commissioner against anti-Semitism Ludwig Spaenle, and the manager of the Munich State Archive Dr. Michael Stephan.
