With great solemnity, spiritual joy, and an atmosphere of sacred grandeur, the Episcopal Ordination of the newly elected Bishop Antonios of Rodostolos took place on Sunday morning, 30 November 2025, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Forerunner in Symi. The date coincided with the Feast of Saint Andrew the First-Called and the Throne Feast of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, adding further significance to the occasion.
Bishop Antonios was elected by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate during its session of 16 October, to serve as Auxiliary Bishop to Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Symi.
This joyful event carries special importance for the remote and multi-island Metropolis, as it marks the first Episcopal Ordination in the entire ecclesiastical history of Symi—a milestone for the local Church and a moment of deep emotion for clergy and faithful alike.
