Upon learning of the election of the new Primate of the Church of Georgia, Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia, the Ecumenical Patriarch sent him a heartfelt message of congratulations.
In it, he wished the new Primate a long, blessed, and fruitful ministry, for the glory of God, the benefit of his devoted flock, peace and stability among the Georgian people, and the advancement of pan-Orthodox unity and the Orthodox Church’s common witness in the contemporary world.
He also wished him success in cooperating harmoniously with the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the other local autocephalous churches.
