The police officers were surprised after discovering five parchments with Hebrew writing hidden in a bag in Hagia Sophia.
According to Turkish media, a devout Muslim had gone to Hagia Sophia to pray, when he noticed a 10 cm long and 30 cm wide stone detached from a wall. He immediately informed the authorities, who discovered five parchments with Hebrew writing hidden in a bag.
The findings will be examined by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism to determine if they are historical artifacts.
