On Monday, September 22, Archbishop Makarios of Australia welcomed popular Greek singer Giannis Ploutarchos, accompanied by expatriate businessman Konstantinos Tagalakis and event organizer Nikolaos Theodorakopoulos.
During his stay in Sydney, Mr. Ploutarchos, who was participating in a series of concerts in various Australian cities, took the gracious initiative to visit the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese to pay his respects to the Archbishop and receive his blessing.
The Archbishop warmly received him, and they had a friendly discussion about the life of the Greek diaspora and the work of the Orthodox Church on the fifth continent.
At the conclusion of the meeting, they exchanged good wishes, and Archbishop Makarios presented his guests with commemorative coins from the special anniversary series issued to mark the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
