During the discussion, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis emphasized the critical need to prevent further escalation and called for a renewed dialogue among all involved parties to ease tensions in the region.
A significant part of the conversation focused on the ongoing negotiations between Greece and Egypt regarding the status of the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai. Both leaders underscored the importance of reaching a timely agreement to protect the heritage and interests associated with this historic religious site.
The talks reflect the shared commitment of both countries to safeguard the monastery’s spiritual and cultural significance while maintaining peace and cooperation in the broader Middle East.
