The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, particularly regarding the transfer of the Holy Fire to Greece.
Speaking during the regular briefing of diplomatic correspondents, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lana Zohiou stressed that “any available options cannot be made public for security reasons.”
She added that “we are in communication with the competent authorities,” underlining that “Greece will exhaust every possibility to ensure the transfer of the Holy Fire.”
At the same time, Ms. Zohiou announced that the planned visit of Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to Tripoli, Libya, has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions.
The visit had been scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, just days after his visit to Benghazi.
