With a landmark initiative for the Church, the Metropolis of Nea Ionia takes “a step forward,” setting new standards in the understanding and use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of both humanity and the Church.
Under the leadership of Metropolitan Gabriel, the Metropolis launches “LOGOS”, a new digital tool that harnesses the power of AI to recognize, process, and clearly convey the essence of Orthodox ecclesiastical thought.
Developed in collaboration with the HERON ICT Laboratory, “LOGOS” represents a pioneering partnership between the Church and the Research Community. The project is academically supervised by Dr. Athanasios Davalas, Head of AI Programs at the University of the Aegean and Director of the HERON Laboratory.
The specialized algorithm is designed to recognize, process, and interpret Orthodox theological content, offering users an authentic and responsible experience of spiritual learning.
“LOGOS” does not replace the role of the Church or the spiritual father, but rather serves as a companion for reflection, study, and faith exploration. It aims to inspire deeper understanding and strengthen the connection between believers and the living Church through responsible use of technology.
This initiative highlights how the union of science and faith can lead to new forms of ministry, knowledge, and communication for the benefit of spiritual growth and witness.
