Government spokesperson Stelios Petsas categorically ruled out the possibility of the demilitarisation of the islands in an interview on Saturday to Greek Channel SKAI TV.
Stelios Petsas said that no Greek government would discuss the demilitarisation of the Greek islands adding that everything will be done to protect the country’s sovereignty.
Referring to Cyprus he said that Greece was in alignment with Cyprus in all issues adding that trust and preparation were necessary in order to be a contact between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “A discussion can’t be excluded if these two conditions exist,” he explained.
He added that the government would support the income of all the stricken by the pandemic for as long as it is needed.
