The representative of the Greek government, Stelios Petsas, spoke today on the Greek channel SKAI TV, on the one hand, of the issue of Turkish provocations in general and, on the other hand, of the issue of Hagia Sophia.
Moreover, he commented on the situation in Turkey regarding Erdogan’s decision to convert Hagia Sophia from a museum into a mosque and stressed that the church was a world heritage site and that there was “no monument that wears a yashmak”.
Finally, he answered the question of whether there was a fear of a dispute with Turkey. The government spokesman stressed that Greece was not afraid but remained alert because it was aware of the provocative behaviour of Turkey that is not in line with good neighbourly relations.
