On Tuesday, 13 January 2026, the Georgios Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, visited the construction site of the under-development Ionian Center in Nea Ionia, where he was warmly welcomed by Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia.
During the visit, Metropolitan Gabriel guided the Minister through the premises of the Center, presenting the vision and identity of the project, as well as its architectural concept, functional layout, and overall design. He outlined the aims of the initiative and its role within the pastoral and social mission of the Holy Metropolis.
The Ionian Center is being developed as a modern and multifunctional space, designed to host spiritual, cultural, and social activities, responding to the needs of the wider local community.
Minister Gerapetritis expressed his particular interest in the initiative of the Holy Metropolis, emphasizing the importance of constructive cooperation between Church and State for the benefit of society, and especially for young people.
The visit concluded with an exchange of views and best wishes for the successful completion and fruitful operation of the Ionian Center.
