A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikolaos Dendias and Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain took place this morning at the offices of the Archdiocese in London.
The visit of the Minister lasted half an hour and issues of the Greek community and the local Church were discussed.
Present at the meeting were the Ambassador of Greece to the United Kingdom Ioannis Raptakis, Bishop Maximos of Melitini, the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese Fr. Nikodimos Anagnostopoulos, and the entourage of the Minister.
Archbishop Nikitas referred to the challenges and problems faced by the Church, as well as to the work carried out with the assistance and participation of the faithful of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain and thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece for his visit despite his busy schedule in London.
He also referred to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Archdiocese the following year and the series of festivities planned.
Dendias was interested in the social and charitable work carried out by the Archdiocese and thanked the Archbishop for the meeting.
