Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria at his office on Friday, December 18, 2020.
The minister of Foreign Affairs had the opportunity to be briefed by the Patriarch on the extensive work of the Patriarchate of Alexandria both in Egypt and throughout the African continent. an extensive network of Metropolises and Dioceses support this social, humanitarian, spiritual, cultural and educational project.
On his part, Nikos Dendias praised the importance of the activity of the Patriarchate of Alexandria on the African continent as a shining example of a successful presence of Orthodoxy in the region and assured of the continued interest and support of Greece in his work.
The foreign minister said on Twitter: “I met with Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodoros II. We discussed the prospects of the Orthodox Community in Egypt and the rest of the African continent.”
