Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis hosted an official luncheon in honor of Bartholomew I at a central hotel in Athens on Thursday.
The Ecumenical Patriarch is currently in the Greek capital as part of a multi-day official visit that began on May 4, 2026.
During his stay in Athens, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is holding a series of meetings with state, political, and ecclesiastical leaders, while also participating in official events and honorary ceremonies.
The visit highlights the close ties between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Greece, as well as the Patriarch’s ongoing role in religious, cultural, and public life.
