The Deputy Foreign Minister, Konstantinos Vlasis, met today the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Greece, Alexey Volkov, in his office.
The deputy foreign minister referred to the long-standing ties that connect the two countries, with the main point of reference being the historical presence of a strong Greek diaspora mark in Kazakhstan, especially in the cities of Almaty and Aktau. The deputy minister also referred to the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries, the large Greek community of which can be a channel for further rapprochement.
On his part, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Alexey Volkov, referred to the very good relations between the two countries, stressing the possibilities of promoting and developing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as education and culture.
As the deputy minister posted on Twitter, “We had a very fruitful discussion with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Greece and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexey Volkov, regarding the Greek diaspora of his country with about 10,000 people.”
