Greek Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias met with Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain on April 4, during his visit to the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in London.
The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, as the two discussed matters of mutual interest concerning both the Archdiocese and the Greek diaspora in the United Kingdom.
“I had the blessing to meet with His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, at the seat of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in London,” the Minister wrote on social media, sharing moments from the visit.

Dendias attends MoU signing between Athens War Museum and Imperial War Museum
Nikos Dendias attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Athens War Museum and the Imperial War Museum in London on Friday.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Athens War Museum by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Konstantinos Karamesinis, and on behalf of the Imperial War Museum by Director-General Caro Howell.
The ceremony was also attended by the Greek Ambassador to the United Kingdom Ioannis Tsaousis, and delegations of the Boards of Directors of the two museums. The aim of the memorandum is to facilitate cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two museums.
“ With the Agenda 2030, everything in the Greek Armed Forces is changing, and the changes include something we are very proud of: our war museums, and especially the War Museum in Athens,” Dendias stressed.
“With this effort, the Imperial War Museum will give us expertise and allow us to present our exhibits and our history in a new way so that they have an even greater appeal, especially to the new generation of Greeks,” he added.
Earlier, Dendias met with the Archbishop of Thyatira and Great Britain Nikitas.
On Thursday, Dendias attended the event organised by the Greek Embassy in London in cooperation with the “Together for the Child” Foundation on the theme “Our future matters: protecting children in crisis situations. From struggle to strength”.
