The Greek Heroes of 1821 were honored by the Greek community in the Australian capital.
On the morning of Sunday, March 28, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra, Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis, presided over the Doxology for the Greek Independence Day at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Canberra, in the presence of the Ambassador of Greece to Australia, Georgios Papakostas, and the representatives of the High Commission of Cyprus.
Archimandrite Prochoros had presided over the Orthros service and the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by the priest in charge of the Parish of Saint Nicholas, Fr. Petros Kipouros, as reported by vema.com.au.
Then, Fr. Prochoros offered a Trisagion for the fallen fighters of 1821 and wreaths were laid at the Greek Monument.
