On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Greek community of Lusaka proudly celebrated the 204th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.
The day began with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and a special Doxology held at the Church of Saint Alexander, presided over by Metropolitan John. The event was attended by the Consuls General of Greece and Cyprus, the President of the Greek Community, and a large gathering of faithful and community members.
Greek Consul Mr. Michail Krupnik read the official message of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas.
The celebrations continued at the Heroes’ Monument with a memorial service and the laying of wreaths by local Greek leaders and dignitaries. The event concluded with traditional Greek hospitality, as attendees enjoyed festive treats in a warm and patriotic atmosphere.
