The Greek Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Chardalias, has just announced that the use of face mask will be obligatory on all places of worship.
As announced by the deputy minister, the measure is applicable from tomorrow, August 1, until August 31.
It is recalled that during yesterday’s journalists’ briefing the Government Spokesman Stelios Petsas stated that “after the recommendation of experts, the further mandatory use of masks in various indoor spaces is being examined” among them and “in our churches too where we see there is overcrowding again.”
The government spokesman stressed that “we are doing what is necessary to send the message that the enemy is complacency and slackening. That is what we have to fight.”
