In a joint statement, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Turkey, Costas Fragogiannis and Mehmet Kemal Bozay, respectively, announced on Monday the upcoming Hackathon Greece -Turkey 2024. An event which, as they point out in the joint statement, is dedicated to promoting cooperation and of innovation between the two nations.
“The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Turkey, are pleased to pre-announce the upcoming Turkey-Greece Hackathon 2024, an event dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation between our two nations.
This significant initiative, co-organized by Bilişim Vadisi, the Technology and Innovation Base of Turkey, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey, and the Athens Startup Business Incubator (Th.E.A of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry), aims to harness the creative energy of our brightest minds to develop solutions that will have a lasting, positive impact on society.
The main sector on which our Hackathon will focus is Smart Cities. This includes innovative solutions for enhancing urban living through technology, tackling pressing environmental challenges, promoting sustainability and improving safety and emergency response mechanisms.
We, therefore, invite high school and university students, startuppers and scientists from Turkey and Greece, between the ages of 16-35, to participate in this landmark event. Young people, through synergies and coordinated efforts, have the power to bridge cultures, innovate and provide solutions to facilitate the lives of the citizens of both countries.
Participants will engage in a series of intensive brainstorming sessions, workshops, and coding sprints, all while working in joint teams to address pressing challenges.
