A great co-liturgy was held on Friday in Moscow, for the completion of ten years since the enthronement of the Head of the Church of Russia, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Mr. Kirill.
Patriarch Kirill wished to celebrate this day, and called the Heads of the Local Orthodox Churches. The co-liturgy was held in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior by the Patriarch of Moscow as well as: the Patriarch of Antioch Ioannis, the Patriarch of Seria Irenej, the Metropolitan of Czech and Slovakia Rastislav, and the Metropolitan of Canada and All America Tikhon.
The following also took part in the co-liturgy: Metropolitan Kyrinis Athanasios, Metropolitan of Tripoli Theofylact (Patriarchate of Alexandria), Metropolitan of Filipoupolis Nephon, Metropolitan of Arcade Vasileios, Buenos Aires and Argentine Siluan (Patriarchate of Antioch), Metropolitan of Gori Andrew (Patriarchate of Georgia), Bishop of Batska Irenej, Bishop Moravitki Antonios (Patriarchate of Serbia), Metropolitan of Tirgobist Nephon, Archbishop Giban Adrianos (Patriarchate of Romania), Metropolitan Stara Zagora Kypriyan, Metropolitan of Vidin Daniil (Patriarchate of Bulgaria), Archbishop of Lublin Avel (Church of Poland), Metropolitan Michalopolis George (Church of Czech and Slovakia), Archbishop Sendai Serafeim (Autonomous Church of Japan); the Delegate of the Patriarch of Jerusalem in Moscow, Archimandrite Stephan (Dispirakis) also attended the co-liturgy.
It should be noted that the Cathedral was attended by the Apostolic Nuncio in Moscow, a Delegation of the Armenian Church, the Head of the Global Council of Churches Dr. Olav Tveit and Delegates of the People’s Republic of China.
During the Holy Eucharist, the Metropolital Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna read a special prayer for longevity.
During the Liturgy, Mr. Kirill prayed for peace in the Ukrainian land.
The Divine Speech was preached by the Archbishop of Vienna and Budapest Mr. Antonios, Chief for the institutions of the Patriarchate abroad.
Nextly, the Patriarch of Antioch, Mr. Ioannis, addressed the Patriarch Kirill, read a congratulating message, and gave him, in commemoration for this day, a crosier.
Finally, the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine of the Patriarch of Moscow Mr. Onuphrius, read a message on behalf of the Church of Russia and the Holy Synod.
