With great splendor and solemnity, the memory of Saint Paraskevi the Venerable Martyr, the Victorious, was celebrated in the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The celebrations took place at the Holy Metropolitan Church dedicated to the saint in the Community of Therapeia and at the namesake Holy Church in the Community of Vathyrriakos.
On the evening of Friday, July 25, the festive Great Vespers with the Artoklasia (blessing of bread) was held at the Holy Metropolitan Church, officiated by Bishop Paisios of Xanthoupolis. Simultaneously, at the Holy Church of Saint Paraskevi in Vathyrriakos, the service was led by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi.
On the day of the feast, Orthros (Matins) and the Divine Liturgy with Artoklasia were celebrated at the Metropolitan Church, presided over by Metropolitan Apostolos. Meanwhile, in the Community of Vathyrriakos, the Divine Liturgy was officiated by Bishop Paisios of Xanthoupolis.
During the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Metropolitan Church, many faithful attended from the local area as well as from abroad, honoring the feast of the beloved Saint Paraskevi.
