The Georgian Patriarchate has issued a clarification in response to circulating media reports and speculation regarding an alleged high-level Church meeting.
In a statement shared on social media, the Patriarchate emphasized that no special gathering of hierarchs is scheduled for today. It noted that the Church is operating under its regular daily agenda, without any extraordinary developments.
The statement also addressed reports concerning the convening of an Expanded Council of the Georgian Orthodox Church, making clear that no date has been set for such a meeting at this time.
The clarification comes amid heightened public interest and ongoing discussions related to the process of electing a new Patriarch. Church officials sought to dispel inaccuracies and prevent the spread of misinformation, reaffirming that no decisions or special sessions are currently planned beyond routine administrative work.
