Georgia: Glorious Resurrection Service held at Patriarchal Cathedral of Sioni

The solemn service of the Glorious Resurrection of Christ was celebrated this year at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Sioni in Tbilisi, presided over by Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, concelebrating with hierarchs and clergy.

The service took place at the historic cathedral where, alongside the great Patriarchs, rests the late Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II.

A large number of faithful attended the Divine Liturgy, joined by high-ranking state officials, including the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive authorities.

Following the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Shio delivered a sermon highlighting the significance of the Resurrection of Christ.
