The funeral service for Bishop Emilian of Crișan will take place on Tuesday, June 30, at Neamț Monastery, where he will be laid to rest following the Divine Liturgy, according to an announcement by the Press Office of the Archdiocese of Arad.
The coffin bearing the body of the late hierarch will be placed on Saturday in the Historic Cathedral of Arad, where clergy and faithful will have the opportunity to pay their final respects to the former Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Arad until Sunday.
A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, officiated by a host of hierarchs, priests, and deacons led by Metropolitan Ioan of Banat.
Following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, the coffin of Bishop Emilian will be transferred to Neamț Monastery, where he entered monastic life at the age of 17.
On Monday, the Divine Liturgy and a vigil service will be celebrated at the monastery in the presence of the monastic brotherhood, clergy, and faithful wishing to offer a final farewell to the ever-memorable hierarch.
The Archdiocese of Arad concluded its announcement with the prayer: “May the Good God forgive him and grant him rest in His heavenly Kingdom together with His chosen ones. Eternal be his memory from generation to generation.”
Bishop Emilian of Crișan reposed in the Lord on the evening of June 26, 2026, after a long and difficult illness.
