Today, March 30, 2026, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria held a telephone conversation with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.
During the conversation, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria expressed his concern over the troubling news regarding the ongoing military actions in the Middle East, as well as reports of restrictions on access to the Church of the Holy Resurrection of Christ.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem updated Patriarch Daniel on the current situation in Jerusalem and the surrounding region, emphasizing the assurances he has received that liturgical services during Holy Week and the Easter period will not be interrupted.
Patriarch Daniel expressed his unconditional support for the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and for its long-suffering flock, which is enduring great trials.
He assured the Patriarch of Jerusalem that the Orthodox Bulgarian people pray daily for the Holy Zion Church and for all those who are suffering as a result of the military conflicts. The conversation concluded with wishes for peace in the region and throughout the world, as well as for a joyous celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
