On Friday, 24 July 2026, following the Divine Liturgy celebrated on the Holy Golgotha, at which Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth presided, the forty-day memorial service was held for the Holy Sepulchre Archimandrites Hilarion and Sergios.
The memorial was presided over by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, concelebrating with the Holy Sepulchre Bishops and Hieromonks, while the chanting was offered by the monks of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Archimandrite Hilarion served as Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of Mount Tabor, while Archimandrite Sergios fulfilled a number of ministries before finally serving as Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of St Spyridon in Jerusalem.
Following the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service, the customary Makaria reception was held at the Patriarchate, where Patriarch Theophilos prayed for the repose of the souls of the two departed Fathers in the land of the living.
