With the Service of the Formal Announcement (Mega Minima), held early this afternoon at the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of Asomaton Petraki, the process of electing the new Metropolitans and Auxiliary Bishops of the Church of Greece was completed.
The ceremony was presided over by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens, in the presence of hierarchs, clergy, and relatives of the newly elected bishops.
The Formal Announcements were delivered by Metropolitan Alexios of Dryinoupolis, Pogoniani and Konitsa and Metropolitan Pavlos of Corinth, who were elected during yesterday’s session of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy.
Subsequently, the newly elected Auxiliary Bishops also received the Great Messages:
- Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos
- Bishop Varnavas of Christoupolis
- Bishop Athinagoras of Domeniko
- Bishop Nikodimos of Epidaurus
- Bishop Theologos of Talantion
At the conclusion of the service, the newly elected Metropolitans and Auxiliary Bishops approached and received the congratulatory greetings and paternal blessings of Archbishop Ieronymos.
