The formal Announcement (Mega Minima) of Metropolitan-elect Titos of Kydonia and Apokoronas took place on Friday afternoon, February 6, 2026, at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Minas in Heraklion, on the eve of his ordination.
The ceremonial proclamation was delivered in the presence of the Archbishop of Crete, Evgenios, the members of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, and Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia. The service was marked by solemnity and prayerful reverence, as the Church officially announced the election of the new Metropolitan.
Following the proclamation, the Chief Secretary of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete read aloud the official announcement of his election, which was then signed in the Synodal Register by the members of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, formally confirming the canonical election of Metropolitan-elect Titos.
As part of the Mega Minima service, Vespers was chanted. Afterward, the newly elected hierarch, together with the Archbishop of Crete, proceeded in pilgrimage to the Church of Saint Titus, the first Archbishop of Crete, to venerate and seek the blessing of the island’s founding hierarch.
