With the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia and in the presence of Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, five members of the catechism class of the Parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Kogarah, Sydney, were received into the Orthodox Church through the Sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation.
Accompanied by the parish clergy, Father Athanasios Yatsios and Father Socrates Dokos, Bishop Christodoulos celebrated the Holy Sacraments, welcoming Mercurius, Emmelia, Maria, Konstantinos, and Kyrillos into the fullness of the Orthodox faith.
The services took place in an atmosphere of spiritual joy and unity in Christ, with relatives, friends, and faithful parishioners present to witness the five catechumens “putting on Christ” through Baptism and Chrismation.
Bishop Christodoulos conveyed the paternal blessings of Archbishop Makarios, offering words of encouragement to the newly illumined. He reminded them of the greatness and responsibility of life in Christ and urged them to remain steadfast in their faith, grounded in love for God and His Church.
