On Friday, 27 February 2026, the services of Orthros, the Hours, and the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts were celebrated in the morning at the Church of Saint George in Makrochori.
In the evening, the First Stasis of the Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos was solemnly chanted, with Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi presiding over the service.
Clergy and faithful gathered prayerfully to participate in the Lenten services, entering more deeply into the spirit of repentance and devotion that characterizes the holy season of Great Lent. The chanting of the Salutations Hymn, one of the most beloved services in the Orthodox tradition, offered the faithful an opportunity to express their reverence and gratitude to the Mother of God, seeking her intercessions and protection during the sacred Forty Days.
