On September 28, 2025, Metropolitan Anastasios of Korçë presided over his first Divine Liturgy.
The service was attended by Archbishop Ioannis of Albania, while concelebrating hierarchs included Metropolitan Asti of Berat and Metropolitan Nathanaili of Gjirokastër.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, clergy and faithful once again exclaimed “Axios”, wishing Metropolitan Anastasi a fruitful pastoral ministry.
The enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Korçë took place the previous day, Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the Cathedral of Korçë. In his enthronement address, Metropolitan Anastasi expressed his gratitude to God for being entrusted with the pastoral responsibility of the historic Metropolis of Korçë. He spoke at length about the city’s spiritual heritage, describing Korçë as a “city of light and culture.”
