The new Metropolitan of Fthiotida presided over his first Divine Liturgy today at the Metropolis Cathedral of the Annunciation in Lamia.
Metropolitans Ignatios of Demetrias, Chrysostomos of Halkida, Chrysostomos of Messinia, Georgios of Thebes, Theoktistos of Fokida, Athinagoras of Ilion, Timotheos of Thessaliotis, Ieronymos of Larissa, and Bishop Konstantinos of Androusa also concelebrated the Divine Liturgy.
Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias stressed, “From today you will have your new Bishop and Metropolitan. He spoke from the heart yesterday like a father who talks to his children. He will be preaching the word of God and he will set a good example especially to the youth. He will maintain our traditions and he will be traditional as well.” The Metropolitan of Fthiotida thanked the local community and the local authorities for having organised a reception ceremony for his enthronement.
