On Thursday and Friday, November 7 and 8, Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the festive worship services for the Synaxis of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel at the dedicated church in Mentone, a suburb of Melbourne.
On Thursday, he officiated the Vespers service, and on Friday, he presided over the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy.
The Bishop was joined by numerous clergy from the Holy Diocese of Melbourne, along with Fr. Kyriakos Peripetsakis from the Holy Diocese of Chora.
A large number of faithful gathered at the celebrating parish on both days. Bishop Kyriakos addressed the congregation, offering reflections on the significance of the feast and the Church’s teachings on the role of Angels.
Also, the Bishop conveyed to all the wishes and the blessing of their Shepherd, Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
Among the faithful who attended the service was Nicholas Archontonis, the brother of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
