With great splendor and spiritual joy, an Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated today, December 17, 2025, at the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Christ in Accra, Ghana, on the occasion of the feast day and name day of the Metropolitan of Accra, Daniel.
The festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated in honor of the Holy and Glorious Prophet Daniel and Saint Dionysios of Zakynthos.
All the clergy of Ghana concelebrated, participating with unity and love in the celebration of their Shepherd.
The sacred service was adorned by the melodious and prayerful chanting of distinguished chanters from the Holy Diocese of Benin.
During the Eucharistic Assembly, the Metropolitan bestowed the ecclesiastical rank of “Oikonomos” upon five priests, as well as the rank of “Archdeacon” upon the deacon of the Holy Metropolis, in recognition of their many years of service and contribution to the Church.
After the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in honor of the Metropolitan, attended by all present, in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and brotherly love.
