In a warm and festive atmosphere, a large number of faithful gathered at the Church of the Holy Theodores in Vlora to celebrate the feast of Saint Eleutherius, Bishop of Vlora and Illyricum, and his mother Saint Anthia.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Metropolitan Astios of Berat and Metropolitan Anastasios of Korçë, together with clergy from the wider region of Vlora, as well as priests from Korçë and Durrës. Also participating were Hieromonks Theonai from Mount Athos and Arseni from Brindisi. Among those present were many faithful from Vlora, Fier, Durrës, and students from the Theological Academy of Saint Vlash in Durrës.
The faithful were given the opportunity to venerate a holy relic of Saint Eleutherius, which was brought by Metropolitan Anastas especially for the services of this feast.
Within this celebratory setting, the ordination of Mr. Foti Sallmone from Orikum to the rank of deacon also took place.
Metropolitan Astios expressed his joy and gratitude to Metropolitan Anastas, the clergy, and all those who attended, while Metropolitan Anastas, in turn, addressed Metropolitan Astios and the faithful, noting with joy the steady growth of this annual celebration in honor of a saint deeply beloved by the people of Vlora, both Orthodox Christians and non-Christians alike.
As is customary each year, a table of hospitality was offered to all participants, reflecting the spirit of love and fellowship that marked the celebration.
