On Saturday, November 23, the feast of Saint Catherine was celebrated at the homonymous Greek Orthodox Church in Zaandam, Amsterdam. After many months of maintenance and renovation work and the consecration service by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Metropolitan Athinagoras of Belgium celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Athinagoras thanked Father Alexandros Koufoudakis for his pastoral work, and parishioners and pilgrims from the Netherlands and Germany for attending the Divine Liturgy. He also referred to the recent visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch to the temple and the renovation work carried out. Finally, the Metropolitan requested assistance from the congregation to ensure that renovation work was completed.
