On the feast of the Theophany, January 19, 2021, Bishop Joanikije of Budimlye-Niksic, the administrator of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the monastery of Djurdjevi Stupovi.
The Bishop was concelebrated by the clergy of the Deanery of Berane and monks of the monastery with the prayerful presence of faithful people. During the holy service Bishop Joanikije ordained hieromonk Pavle (Pajic) to the rank of protosynchellos.
At the end of the service, a great blessing of waters was performed. On this occasion Bishop Joanikije of Budimlye Niksic awarded the doctors and medical staff of the Covid Center at the General Hospital in Berane, which, as the only Covid hospital in the north, has endured and is enduring the biggest burden during the pandemic, the highest decoration of the Diocese – the Golden medal of Holy Greatmartyr and the Victory-Bearer George of the First Degree. The medal on behalf of awarded medical workers was received by Dr. Milovan Zivkovic, head of the Infectious Diseases Department. He thanked Bishop Joanikije for the awarded decoration. On behalf of the medical staff, Dijana Cukic, head nurse at the Infectious Diseases Department, thanked the Bishop.
