On November 8, 2025, the Feast of the Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Bodiless Heavenly Powers, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv, which joyfully celebrated its patronal feast day.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Metropolitan Makariy of Lviv, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Dymytriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Klyment of Simferopol and Crimea, Metropolitan Ilarion of Rivne and Ostroh, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Metropolitan Symeon of Dnipro and Sicheslav, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, Archbishop Athanasios of Odesa and Balta, Archbishop Mytrofan of Kharkiv and Slobozhanshchyna, Bishop Photios of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, Bishop Borys of Kherson and Kakhovka, and Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, along with the monastic brotherhood and numerous invited clergy.
Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude delivered a sermon, offering a special prayer for Ukraine, which continues to face times of great trial and peril. During the service, fervent prayers were offered for the soldiers defending the nation, for the authorities and the Ukrainian people, and for the repose of all fallen defenders and innocent civilians who lost their lives in the war.
During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Epifaniy ordained Dmytro Kundeus, a graduate of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, to the diaconate.
The Primate also congratulated Metropolitan Ilarion of Rivne and Ostroh and Bishop Photios of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol on their birthdays, honoring them with high ecclesiastical distinctions and presenting them with commemorative gifts.
The festive celebration concluded with a solemn procession around the cathedral, accompanied by hymns of thanksgiving and reverence.
