Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane, accompanied by Fr. Athanasios Athanasiadis, Priest of the Parish of Saint Paraskevi in Brisbane, traveled to the regional city of Rockhampton in northern Queensland to celebrate the feast of Saint Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis the Wonderworker, at the local church.
The Bishop presided over Vespers on Friday afternoon, followed by Orthros and the Divine Liturgy the next morning. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a procession was held with the holy icon of Saint Nektarios.
Addressing the faithful, Bishop Bartholomew conveyed the love and blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia and informed them about the upcoming visit of the Archbishop to Brisbane next month.
On behalf of the Archbishop, the Bishop also thanked the volunteers for their dedication to the care of the Church of Saint Nektarios.
In his homily, Bishop Bartholomew emphasized the importance of patience, humility, prayer, and unwavering trust in God, virtues exemplified by Saint Nektarios.
