On Monday, January 18, 2021, on the feast of Saints Athanasius and Cyril, Patriarchs of Alexandria, the Metropolitan of Derkoi, Geron Apostolos presided over the Divine Liturgy and blessed the Five Loaves of Bread (Artoklasia service) at the Holy Temple of Saint George in Macrochorion.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan of Derkoi, Geron Apostolos awarded the title of Treasurer of the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi to the Head of the Holy Temple of Saint George, honoring him for his 16-year ministry in the Holy Diocese.
A reception and the cutting of the Vasilopita followed.
