The Feast of Saint and Holy Virgin Martyr Paraskevi was solemnly celebrated today in the capital of France.
Metropolitan Emmanuel of France officiated at the Metropolitan Church of St. Stephen in Paris, where a part of the holy relics of the popular Holy Virgin Martyr Paraskevi is kept.
The Metropolitan spoke in his homily of the power of the faith of the Saint, who underwent martyrdom filled with gratitude to the Lord. “We can draw strength from the martyrdom of Saint Paraskevi and, therefore, live our lives with courage and faith. And if need be, let us be ready to confess our faith in Jesus Christ. We should be patient and face the trials of our lives, which in fact are negligible compared to what the Holy Martyrs of our Church have gone through”, the Metropolitan of France stressed.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the faithful, respecting all the security measures imposed by the French State in order to stem the spread of the coronavirus, prostrated themselves before the holy relics of Saint Paraskevi.
