On Sunday, 9 August 2026, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of the glorious Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon. In honour of the Saint, the Patriarchate maintains a Holy Monastery situated a short distance from Jaffa Gate.
For the celebration of this feast at the aforementioned Holy Monastery of the Patriarchate, Vespers was celebrated on the eve by Archbishop Theophanes of Gerash, while the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the morning, presided over by Archbishop Philoumenos of Pella, concelebrated by Archimandrite Ignatios, Father Nektarios and Archdeacon Mark. The chanting was led by the Rites Keeper of the Patriarchal Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, Archimandrite Alexios, together with nuns of the Patriarchate and Gabriel. Members of the Greek community of Jerusalem and pilgrims were also present.
During the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, accompanied by Fathers of the Holy Sepulchre, came to pay his respect to the Saint.
The Patriarchal and Hierarchical Entourage, together with the entire congregation, was received with a festive refreshment lovingly prepared by the diligent Abbess Nun Charitini.
