With the blessings of Archbishop Ioannis of Zambia, Saint Nicholas parish in Kapiri Boshi, Zambia celebrated the memory of their Patron, Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra in Lycia, the wonderworker.
The Divine Services conducted included Sunday Orthros, Divine Liturgy, and the Service of the Blessing of the 5 Loaves (Artoklasia). During the Divine Services, Orthodox hymns were chanted in the local language of Bemba, which is mostly spoken in Zambia.
The Holy Church of Saint Nicholas was built over 55 years ago by the faithful Palamidis Family. The Church itself, however, remained closed for many years and was later occupied by Protestant Domonimations until it was returned to use by the Greek Orthodox Community.
