On the day when the Church celebrates the Circumcision of the Lord and St. Basil the Great (New Year), Bishop Kiril of Buenos Aires and South-Central America celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Cetinje Monastery.
Archpriest-Staurophores Gojko Perovic and Obren Jovanovic, Archpriests Igor Balaban and Mirceta Sljivančanin, Abbot of the monastery of St. Simeon the Myrrh-bearer in Podgorica, Archimandrite Danilo, Protosyncellus Justin and Isak from Cetinje monastery, as well as Deacons Dusan lekic concelebrated the Divine Liturgy. On that occasion, the Bishop ordained monk Amfilohije to the rank of deacon.
Bishop Kiril wished the new deacon a happy New Year, as well as all those present, and that a new life in monasticism and priestly service would begin in the New Year. The Bishop assessed that a true theologian is one who prays well and truly lives according to God’s commandments and reminded that former father Teofilo, now Amfilohije, came to Cetinje from Colombia to live in an Orthodox environment in order to embrace in his heart the life in Orthodoxy.
Protopresbyter-Staurophor Gojko Perovic, dean of the Seminary of Cetinje, held a sermon.
