The Despotic Feast of Pentecost was celebrated in the Cathedral of St. Frumentius in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
The Mystery of Holy Eucharist was officiated by Metropolitan Daniel of Axum, while the Protosyncellus, Grand Archimandrite of the Throne, Chrysostomos Barberis, accompanied the Metropolitan.
Short after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers Service was also performed. Greek Orthodox, Ethiopians, Ukrainians and Arab-speaking faithful attended the service, in compliance with all the COVIS-19 restrictive measures.
The President of the Greek Community of Addis Ababa, Dimitrios Sykas, also attended.
The wonderful ecclesiastical hymns of the feast were exceptionally performed by the Protopsaltis of the Holy Metropolis, Ioannis Giannakopoulos.
The Metropolitan conveyed to the faithful present the wishes and blessings of Alexandrian Primate Theodore II, wishing the Grace of the Holy Spirit to enlighten and support every human being all over the world.
